Path in the woodsThe Metal Element is active from 3am to 7am.  The Lungs and Large Intestine are the Organs associated with the Metal Element. Many traditions practice meditation early in the morning during the Metal time. As the Lungs regulate our breath, we can see the wisdom of morning meditation.  As we place our attention onto the breath and feel the rhythm of our ribs and abdomen moving in response to our respiration, we can come into a deeper connection with ourselves as our thoughts drop away.

The Metal Element offers us focused attention and an ability to sense ourself from the inside out.

Taking a little time in the morning to bring our attention inward by following our breath is a simple way to connect with and benefit from the Metal within us. As we practice and become better able to feel from the inside out, we stabilize our attention and energy. Aware of ourselves and our internal landscape, we now have the opportunity to hear the deeper calling of our Heart’s desire.

I have wondered why it is essential that I do my MORNING meditation by 7. Lung, grief, and an inherent weakness in my organs, lungs, dictates my need.
Thank you for my ongoing education, Cindy. Now to meditate, albeit a bit late!
