I was lighting incense this morning.
I held the stick and the lighter. In the pause of that moment was the realization that as soon as I brought the fire to the incense, this beginning would mark its journey toward its end.
And in between the moment of beginning and the moment of ending, the world will enjoy the gentle movements of its smoke, and the gift of its fragrance.
